Cooking Classes
Finally – it’s time to choose a class! We have 5 different levels of classes based upon ability. Please choose the class that is closest to your skill level. The classes are designed to take your skills at the chosen level and improve upon them. So if you choose "intermediate", for example, we assume you are currently at that level and looking to move upwards, not trying to improve to intermediate.

Our classes fill up fast, so make sure you sign up quickly! If a class is filled out, please email us at info@chefalyssaskitchen.com to be added to the waiting list, which will be first come first serve. Be sure to check out our refund and non-refundable policies as well.

Each class is designed based upon the products available that season. For example, tomatoes may be involved in many classes in the summer but not at all during the winter. We also allow BYOB for beer and wine only for all of our classes!

Remember, even if the classes listed here do not work for you, by joining our newsletter you’ll receive first notice about new classes that as they become available!

Basic Knife Skills


Date: Monday February 27th, 2017
Time: 6:30 PM

Learn the proper technique of care and handling a Chef’s knife. These foundations will help you slice, dice, chop, mince, chiffonade and julienne like a pro! We’ll make a fresh salad and hash as part of this class.

Class Difficulty Levels
We separate each class by difficulty level so that our students can pick the best possible class for their skill level. Looking for a challenge? Try a harder class! Just make sure it’s too hard. Want to take it easy? There’s nothing wrong with learning a simple new recipe for yourself or to impress others. The choice is yours!
  • Beginner
    If you’re just starting out, and one of your best accomplish-ments in the kitchen is toasting a bagel. This type of class is for you. We will help get you started in the right path to cooking more. This means: learning the right utensil to use, preparing food, a basic recipe or three, and more.
    You have no idea where to start and it usually results in tear. We will teach you how to cut an onion.
  • Beginner Plus
    So you’re not quite a beginner, but you’re by no means that comfortable in the kitchen are you? The Beginner Plus Class is just a step above the basics. In this type of class you will learn to develop your current skills and a few new ones, along with improved seasoning tips and a few recipes as well!
    You’ve cut an onion before, but it’s a real challenge.
  • Intermediate
    If you feel comfortable in the kitchen, and ready for some tips to enhance your abilities… Sign up here. In these types of classes you’ll be able to perfect your current skills and learn a plethora of new ways to plate dishes, alter current recipes, and make some great new ones too.
    You’ve cut an onion before, and it’s not that difficult.
  • Intermediate Plus
    You’ve seen the cooking shows, you've read the online recipes, and you're always looking for the next endeavor. We’re guessing you’ve hosted a dinner party or two in the past as well! If this is you, sign up for Intermediate Plus! You’ll learn great dishes and great alternatives to pairing and seasoning food.
    Cutting onions? Yeah no sweat! What else can we do?
  • Advanced
    If you’re in this category, not only do you enjoy cooking but you’re good at it too. You’ve probably been in the kitchen for a long time now. You’ve hosted your fair share of dinner parties, are almost always the cook, and everyone looks forward to what you’ve made for the Super Bowl party. We promise to challenge you a little bit here and hopefully teach you some new tricks.
    What size of diced onions would you like? I can pretty much do them all.
